Marietta, GA - On October 18th, Cobb County residents will come together with millions of Americans across the country in a nationwide day of nonviolent protest at the second No Kings Day of Action. There are currently 2,200+ events nationwide, already exceeding the number of locations who rallied on the first No Kings Day of Action in June, with new event locations being added daily.

Indivisible Cobb is planning this rally to take place at the intersections of Johnson Ferry and Roswell Road in east Cobb between 2-4 pm. The Cobb event is timed to allow all those who wish to participate in the downtown Atlanta protest (scheduled for between 10 am and 1 pm) to further amplify their voices in Cobb county.

“Nearly 3,000 of our Cobb neighbors attended the Indivisible Cobb No Kings protest in June.” said Stacey Parlotto, one of the Indivisible Cobb leaders. “In the four months since then, we have all watched as the Trump administration continued claiming powers they don’t have and launching one unconstitutional action after another. In recent days, people signing up to participate is breaking records, with more than a 32% increase over the same time frame as the June rally. Our peaceful day of action is going to bring together local residents from all walks of life who share a simple message: We don’t do kings in America.”

On June 14, more than five million people across all 50 states joined No Kings in the largest single-day protest yet against President Trump’s authoritarianism. The October 18th day of action is the next step in this growing movement, channeling that energy into yet another coordinated, peaceful mobilization.

A number of groups are uniting to organize the No Kings peaceful protests across the country including ACLU, American Federation of Teachers, Common Defense, 50501, Human Rights Campaign, Indivisible, League of Conservation Voters, MoveOn, National Nurses United, Public Citizen, SEIU, among others. A full list of partners can be seen at www.nokings.org/partners.

All No Kings events adhere to a shared commitment to nonviolent protest and community safety. Organizers are trained in de-escalation and are working closely with local partners to ensure peaceful and powerful actions nationwide.
