​Lawsuit Should Disqualify Him From Access to Cobb County Schools’ Budget

​Marietta, GA - Sunlight is the best disinfectant and the recently released court filings of a lawsuit in which Cobb County school board Vice-Chair, John Cristadoro, was named alleging civil RICO, conspiracy, theft, fraud, breach of fiduciary duties, and other malfeasance has now seen the light of day. In the filing, one that Cristadoro tried desperately to keep sealed, he is accused of redirecting his client's $250,000 to cover business and personal expenses, rather than using the funds to pay for the advertising services he purchased on behalf of his client.

Detailed within the suit, Cristadoro and his firm Alliance Activation are accused of receiving a series of five $50,000 payments to him by the client and depositing those into his business and personal accounts. The alleged malfeasance became known when the client received a default notice.

The Cobb County school district is rated as one of the top districts in Georgia. With an annual budget just shy of $2 billion, insisting on transparent fiscal accountability is not simply good practice, it is an imperative. And that holds for all those in a position that determines how that money is spent.

“If you are a Cobb County taxpayer, do you want this man anywhere near a $1.8 billion checkbook?” asks Stacey Parlotto, a leader of Indivisible Cobb. “All during his campaign for school board, Cristadoro knew of the accusations around his misappropriation of his client’s monies. Certainly, the evidence provided in the filing is both credible and damning. Cobb County voters should have been informed about this alleged fiduciary breach, the details of which would have influenced who they chose in the voting booth. For this reason alone, Vice-Chair John Cristadoro must resign.”
